Process Reflection 2 (3/19/20)

Currently, I haven’t been as productive with the Capstone Project as I want to be. I’ve come to a thesis for my project that I think I’m happy with. After some thinking and processing on my topic since I went through a period where I wasn’t sure on if I liked what I was doing, I think I’ve come to a new topic that can incorporate many different angles to take: Film conveys some of the most intellectual and powerful ideas/notions about human existence and identity. I think the main ideas I want to tackle are the ideas of what do we believe human identity is? What do scientists vs. more religious folks believe about those ideas? How do certain films show those ideas? How do they relate/challenge/empower the other ideas?
I haven’t done as much research for this project as I want to. I’ve worked out what I want to do my topic on, but I need to really get started on finding sources and watching movies for my topic. Luckily, with the coronavirus wiping out school, I have a bit more time to do so, but that means I need to start planning ahead if I’m going to be able to get it done in time. I think I can, but it means I need to start cranking. I haven’t started my written draft yet, but I will definitely make sure I can plan or start it next week.
Once I get further into my research and paper, I think I’ll be able to formulate a good idea for my artifact. I want to do something really cool with the movies I choose, and I think I’ll be able to think of something neat once I get there. I do still need to consult with my experts. This weekend, I plan on finalizing my questions and reaching out to those who I will interview, and hopefully knock those out next week.
It’s a bit of a crunch time right now for my project, but I think if I plan it out and work hard I can make something great out of it. After we talked, I got excited again for the project, and I can’t wait to bring that energy back into my research and execution with this awesome topic.
