Process Reflection 3 (5/7/20)

As I come to the end of my capstone journey, it's so fulfilling to see things finally come together. The video is soon to be completed, and it's really exciting to know that I'm almost done. I can't wait to see the final product. What's left is solely just to edit and perfect to video until it's ready to be uploaded and published.
I'd say the most important ideas I discovered when finalizing my projects were those ideas circulating around humanity. As I initially started thinking of ideas earlier in the year, it was caught up in some pretty philosophical and complex thoughts that were a bit tough to grasp and really make an argument upon. With careful research and continued exploration, I was able to flesh that out and settle upon something a bit more cohesive, and that I felt was more compelling for me to research. Because, while I get to do a project about movies which I love, I also get a lot more insight into who I am and what makes me tick. While they're things that I've instinctually known, seeing them connect in that fashion with logical explanation was pretty eye-opening.
I'm glad I settled on making a video. I could have just written a paper, but it's so much more exciting to work on something like a video. It's especially interesting to work on because I can pull clips and audio from the movies themselves because of the video essay format I'm doing. Having drawn a ton of my inspiration from the many YouTube videos I've seen about people breaking down movies, I'm influenced a lot by them to make my video someone similar to theirs, but with my own personality thrown into it. I think it'll create a much more immersive and natural experience when someone is watching it, rather than reading a paper about a movie they may have never seen. I hope I can make my video in a way that they can still gain and understand my argument without having seen the movies I'm describing.
All I need between now and the due is date is just the time to dedicate myself to the video to edit it. And once classes commence, I'll have all the free time I need to really throw all my passion into this project, and finish on a high note. I can't wait for my video to be complete.
